MISS TAKE -僕はミス·テイク-
MISS TAKE -僕はミス·テイク-
MISS TAKE - Miss-Take I suppose-Lyrics by Imai Hisashi
Translation by Lola
Dear reality - this world- I ask that you defile me (1)
Though I skilfully sing sad songs of you
Without a doubt I will never escape the earth
You're watching too as the color of night darkens into an abyss
Won't you hurt me? I want to know what pain is like
That which no one has ever even seen is neither a dream nor an illusion
As long as I continue to surpass eternity
I am a truly free angel
There is nothing on this earth
So I keep flying, keep flying
As long as I continue to surpass eternity
The wind blows and I beg for time to stop
It is the kind of world where there is nothing
So cry my name, cry out my name
Though I skilfully sing sad songs of you
I know without a doubt I will never escape from you
As long as I continue to surpass eternity
I am a truly free angel
There is nothing on this earth
So I keep flying, keep flying
As long as I continue to surpass eternity
The wind blows and I beg for time to stop
It is the kind of world where there is nothing
So cry my name, cry out my name
As long as I continue to surpass eternity
I am a truly free angel
There is nothing on this earth
So I keep flying, keep flying
I keep flying, keep flying
Scream my name, scream my name
"To you, my dear world"
Notes: (1) 'Reality' isn't sung, Sakurai only sings the 'world' part but 'genjitsu' (reality) is printed in the lyrics.
Regarding the origin of the song, Imai wrote it as the theme for a play, "Tenshu Monogatari". It's an old fairytale story of forbidden love between the ethereal and the real. There are various versions of it performed and even a movie and an animated film of it. There are some differences between them but the main theme of impossible love is the same through them all. In the most recent FT issue (#64) Imai discusses seeing the play and how he wrote the lyrics with the views expressed in the play in mind. Also, I am paraphrasing but, in regards to the title, he is very clear that it is not meant as 'mistake' but rather a play on words when you separate it into 'miss' and 'take'. The 'miss' as meaning you failed something and the 'take' as in take one, take two. He went to say that when he happened to hear the word 'mistake' as part of the script of the play, the idea to play with the word in this way came to him.
ONLY YOU
Lyrics by Imai Hisashi
Translation by Lola
ONLY YOU as this world madly turns
Shall we speak of love or shall we run away?
ONLY YOU wheel and spin in a jitterbug
As the earth turns in its -rotation- festooned with the sun and the moon (1)
With a pretty name and with that smile you look at me
And of everyone you are simply unique
ONLY YOU exist and other than you there is simply nothing
ONLY YOU in this entire world
yeah yeah yeah Just only you
Just only you Just only you Just only you
ONLY YOU make this world sparkle
Baby do you love me? I want you to tell me
ONLY YOU make the dawn shine bright
And when you love someone, it's for life
You have a beautiful name, c'mon look up at me
Of everyone you are simply unique
ONLY YOU exist and other than you there is simply nothing
ONLY YOU in this entire world
yeah yeah yeah Just
ONLY YOU exist and other than you there is simply nothing
ONLY YOU in this entire world
yeah yeah yeah Just only you
Just only you Just only you Just only you
ONLY YOU continue to change the world
Shall we speak of love or shall we run away?
Black, white, red or yellow, they are all cute
But of everyone there is just one you
ONLY YOU exist and other than you there is simply nothing
ONLY YOU in this entire world
yeah yeah yeah Just
ONLY YOU exist and other than you there is simply nothing
ONLY YOU in this entire world
yeah yeah yeah Just
ONLY YOU exist and other than you there is simply nothing
ONLY YOU in this entire world
yeah yeah yeah Just
ONLY YOU exist and other than you there is simply nothing
ONLY YOU in this entire world
yeah yeah yeah Just only you
Just only you Just only you Just only you
Notes: (1) The verb 'to turn' is not sung in this line, only 'rotation' is sung but the verb is printed in the lyrics.
My baby Japanese -type II-
Lyrics by Sakurai Atsushi
Translation by Lola
M is in a dark suit, a hand placed atop the buttons
Wrapped up in devotion, a magma called desire
The men are beaten down by ignorance and the ladies are hysterical
While the dancing people of the household are tonight, getting a taste of the masquerade
With disheveled red hair slapping her in the face, she dances and dreams in a flower garden
A fabrication of the future beyond tomorrow of a girl that is just searching for an angel
A new drama of a make believe person with a pile of sweet morals
With the power of purification and resurrection raging like a typhoon
Worried about tonight's menu that appears to be the split between her legs
Perhaps the hyenas will get their spoils tonight
In this pure white room, that girl grows hungry even as her nail polish chips and flakes away
With perhaps a bit of soup and a scrap of bread, that girl is just searching for an angel
With disheveled red hair slapping her in the face, she dances and dreams in a flower garden
A fabrication of the future beyond tomorrow of a girl that is just searching for an angel
